We have had to turn away more people lately than I ever wanted to, so I want to go over some tips on how to make sure you get to have a successful session with me!

When to book:
It’s a great idea to book about 2-3 months out from when you would like to have your session. So, if you are looking into a maternity session, we recommend that you are between 32-35 weeks along in your pregnancy, so you need to contact us no later than your 22nd week. We rarely have last minute cancelations or a few extra spots, so try your best to plan ahead! Same goes with any other session: newborn, milestone or family. It’s usually about 8-10 weeks before we can get you scheduled.

Styling:
I love to help with styling! It’s a big part of this job that I love. We will contact you a month before your session to start brainstorming about your session. I can make suggestions on places to shop or styles to think about if you would like some input. We can figure out together what will look best with the location that we choose. I have several maternity dresses that you are welcome to come and try on before your session if you would like to use what I have. I also have a few cute rompers and dresses for sitting babies (under 12 months) that are available for you to use. We do like to encourage you purchase something specifically for your milestone sessions, that way you have a keepsake for years to come.

Newborn Sessions:
Make sure to contact us by week 30, so we can be sure to reserve a spot for you! When we book your newborn session, we put you on the calendar for your due date. We will keep in contact with you throughout the remainder of your pregnancy, but we count on you to tell us when baby is born! We prefer to photograph baby between 5-10 days old so they are still super sleepy and squishy. When we send your booking, we also send out a questionnaire, so the more detailed you are, the easier it is for us to tailor your session to exactly what you envision. Things to think about as you fill out your questionnaire are the colors of the nursery and the colors in the rooms where you plan on displaying the beautiful images of your sweet little one. We like to know of any poses or images that you have seen on the website that you like, that way we can try & add those props, colors, etc to your session. All props, outfits, headbands/hats & backdrops on my website are owned by me, so anything you like, make sure to mention that, you are welcome to use anything I have!
